Munich 6 days

In the cold nights of the Bavarian winter has hold the six-day track cycling competition at the Munich Olympic Park. We were invited by Philippe Auerswald to do rollerblading races on the speed ring. In the evening a discotheque was organized in the basements. It was the opportunity for Jean Yves to take out the armor and enjoy the effects of light to make disco images. so that he could Dance in Munich with virtual Madonna.

Later in the year, he mounted the images on a video of Madonna and resumed his movement as a dialogue or a choreographic concerto.

Kyung Ae tried the BUGGY ROLLIN suit in Pundang near Seoul, in the parc of the in line skate club that she used to manage “Baram Sori” (the noise of the wind).  She was a talented skater, so much that she was one of the first slalom coach in Seoul. As good skater, she could use her skills to learn BUGGY ROLLIN very fast.

Step By Step

After a first stage on the flat, she tried from a short slope. Anyway it take time to get good training. Later in France she had special downhill training in the alps. And finally she went to freeride in the famous Vallee de la Jeunesse in Lausanne. That day Gilles was discovering BUGGY ROLLIN. You Can see it in the video called debutant First step.

Kyung Ae pictures

Maybe she got stuck on the back once she landed. We came to relax the muscle of her head whit holding the helmet up. We got a lot of question about how tiring it is for the neck to lye on stomach. But the real difficulty is when someone stay too long on the back. The general construction of the body is not designed for that.

 

Calling from Jim Carrey YESMAN

One day, Jean Yves Blondeau received a phone call. “Hi it is Jody from HHALLIWOD, We want you to make a movie with Jim Carrey, can you come?” Of course he could come. Here are the secret pictures of the preparation of the movie.

Get the suits ready

There is preparation of the new back with no wheels, because the production of the movie decided that it is not necessary to roll on the back. You can see a picture of the old workshop in which the grand father of Jean Yves was also working. Kyung ae shows how the shoulder pads work to the hollywood stunt spec makers.

Wheels Matter !

Stock of GREEN matter wheels, Jean yves wanted to have this wheels since several years, the movie was the right moment o get a stock. even if we did downhill with great peed and strong brakes, we should have new wheel at each close up shot for the beauty of the picture.
Kyung Ae helps Monica to set the suit, because in USA it was not welcome that Jean Yves takes care of woman chest on Monica, even if he is the master.

Progressive training by Jean Yves Super stunt coach.

the training started inside the parking lot of Warner Bros because of bad weather. The parking lot was specially closed for that. We would take the elevator to go up and make downhill after downhill. Jean yves was putting cones on the floor to draw specific curve that monica train to brake and changing direction. Afterward,we rent several road for training. The first was a museum in L.A. Second was a private road outside the city, and last was a lost high way in the mountain to train for speed.

The next pictures are from the private road. It had a steep straight and a sharp right curve at the bottom. It was difficult for Monica who crashed in the canalisation on the side of the road. Scary but no pain.

It has been decided that the film road will be protected with hay balls. Big trucks arrived. And “the street has more hair pins that the hair of Dolly Parker”

Many camera cars

The electric camera car was used only for one subjective shot. We also had a Mini that could keep the speed and brakes.
You can see back stage of Warner studio wit fake street perspective one sided building and old fashion ER outdoor set. As you see, it is not made in Chicago.

Hush !

The last pictures are secret shot of the stars at work, even if the Production promised to give official shots it never happened.

Hair strike.

next are shot of Jean Yves and Monica on the set. Jean Yves has long hair wig because he also double Zoee Deschanel as she jumped over the camera. Helmet of Zoee was one sise smaller as jean yves. But with the wig, the pins that holds the wig were getting in the skin of the skull, that was not comfortable. It is pure stunt work routine. Then on the last brake, Jean yves did a drift with head very close to the floor and the wig wrapped around the elbow will in a split of a second, that was pulling the head on the side. It was not possible to watch where to go anymore. Risky stunt work. It was a happiness to come back to Jim double sequence.

Rollerman precision drifts

Each take is controlled after each run. There was camera crew at the outside of a curve where Jean Yves was drifting braking at full speed. The concept was to be as close as possible of the camera. After the first shot, Jean yves came to check if the crew was happy of the shot. “was it good? was i close enough?” he asked. As answer, there was a silent. He went so close to the camera that every one was shocked to be crushed and speechless. then after few second someone said “yes ! YES it is good enough ! ” That was precision drift !

Camera on wheels for men on wheels

Many camera véhicules has been used for the run shoot. One mercedes Russian arm, it is a crane on the top of the car. There are 6 person in the car for operating directing and driving the car. They were struggling to keep the pace of Monica and Jean Yves because it was a real downhill it was fast. At last left hairpin the car went on 3 wheels, every one thought it was going to crash with the director inside. Thankfully not ! But they were scared. and they stopped try to chase Jean Yves with the Russian arm, They said “It is enough, we have it”, and moved to the Mini.

BUGGY SKI at MUJU Resort was a chance.

With Yvon Labarthe and sometimes with Ji Ha we made a lot of video and many press in MUJU Resort. It was the opportunity to produce a lot of movie. Thus, the BUGGY SKI at MUJU Resort gave the opportunity for Jean Yves Blondeau to finalise the BUGGY SKI suit Because Jean Yves was making show every day. So each time something broke. It had to be fixed and designed that the problem does not come anymore.

Make every one a VIP

Because the head of Jean Yves was a ski pass, and thanks that he had the right to take any person with him on fast lanes, anyone could spend time with him. Many time he would care about beginner do together on easy tracks and take time to share moment together.

Welcome to MUJU

From Christmas 2006 until March 2007, Jean Yves was at Muju Resort. Every day he had to make BUGGY SKI armor shows from 19h. And every Saturday,Rollerman welcomes tourist at MUJU in golden armor.

With golden suit in this golden light and warm colored wood environment, it creates a very coherent graphic image. it is perfect for Rollerman to welcomes tourist at MUJU Resort.

The return to Korean duties was bitter. All the joy of finding Chae Sun has turned into a long intense sorrow. Chae Sun was gone.

Jean Yves left with Kim Nam Hoon for another trip to Japan, without a photographer this time. We did not bring back an image. Only the memory of having descended Mount Fuji by the Subaru road, of having melted a wheel in the straight line of below.

And then Kim Nam Hoon had the good idea to partner with Muju Resort. We invite a dream team to film a commercial. Danny Strasser on camera, and Yvon Labarthe on longboard and Sebastien Simon on dirt surf. The idea was to use the slopes of the golf course. And to use self-driving electric cars without drivers to go up, like robotic characters. And build the image a complicity between different sliding sports: longboard, dirtsurf, and BUGGY ROLLIN. The golden armor had just been finished. It had to be the star of the movie.

Photos of Korean duties

A photo of the MUJU publicity shooting crew. Back to Korea in autumn. New offices in Busan, with the life-size photo of Jean Yves Rolerman in 3D. This life size photo has disappeared in multiple moves.
And then an event at the top of the highest tower of Korea, with golden armor in contact with children.

Back from Switzerland, Rollerman took appointment with Christophe Lebedinsky for a series of  Photos with KiKi LeBe 2006.

Start at home.

Good looking BUGGY ROLLIN  new armor “Silver” was used. Photos with KiKi LeBe 2006 started in front of Jean Yves’ house. The road has a lot of traffic which provided nice blur effect of passing vehicles.

Higher than Mont Blanc.

Then we went to Semnoz. From there we could have the Mont Blanc in the background. It is a wonderfull place for picture and for training. During the shooting  Jean Yves was able to jump over The Mont Blanc.

Chambotte rocky road.

We also went to Chambotte. This is one of the secret places of Jean Yves. The view of Lake Bourget is beautiful, and the environment is very mineral The road is clinging to the cliffs.

Seismic pictures of Rollerman

July 2006 during the longboard event “swiss on a chill hill” we met Pascal Mievillele photograph “Sismic”. We had the brand new silver suit designed for downhill. together we had a good team work on “Seismic pictures of Rollerman”

Almost boring race

It was a beautiful event. But the road was quite short, not fast. There was a crazy lot of people. We went up hill in a cattle truck like cows. During training we started to get bored. So we decided to go back to Furka and grimsell pass, with Danny Strasser and we did the best film we’ve ever done; “SWISSPASS”.

Albstadt (city web site) is the city chosen by Tobias to host the first round of the downhill championships in Germany. We are in the Swabian jura, the weather is nice and the track is long. Jean Yves Blondeau came as Rollerman to make the show at opening ceremony and open each run of downhill. There were many riders from all over Europe. After a wet rainy night the sun came on the city.  Many the citizen came to enjoy the race. The road was long and technical. There were many places where we had to brake seriously.

The Perfect BUGGY ROLLIN suit.

The BUGGY ROLLIN suit of Jean Yves Blondeau designed for downhill was completely in tis element. So it was a nice event.
