Rollerman in Neox

This release of Rollerman in Neox is dated from june 2008. But the pictures looks like 9 years earlier ISPO 1999, the one used in Berliner Zeitung.

Because the journalist met jean yves in 1999, the article says that Jean Yves goes 70 km per hour with the nose at 5 com from the floor. 20 kilo is the weight of the suit. Thirty minute of practicing BUGGY ROLLIN is equivalent of two hour of intensive sport. 31 wheels was used for the pink suit with 6 wheels skates. This carbon prototype was a 27 wheels. “The BUGGY ROLLIN is a living transportation machine”, that is right ! “The best thing is to roll on the back” is also true. There is misunderstand about braking. It says “braking is the hater thing”. In fact a wheel suit is braking all the time, the hard thing is to let it go longer.

rollerman @ Newton’s Nation expectations and discoveries

With happiness and expectation Jean Yves Blondeau aka Rollerman went to Newton’s nation event at barthust Mont Panorama Australia with Blue BUGGY ROLLIN armor.
We got interviewed by local radio, Tv, and enjoyed Sydney with Yvon Labarth.

Like in a game

After a few days in Sydney, we went to mount panorama. The road is a circuit for car race very famous in Australia. It goes up and comes back down on the other side of the mountain. The floor quality is exceptional. With all the sponsors pantings on the security walls it make a graphic effect comparable to a video game.

so we made several Film . The first one is about the race .

This one is a freeride. Ben from B-Rock radio brang us to some lost downhill roads around barthust. we ate a lot of flies!

the last one is not made by Yvon but a Tv show made very early at Sydney for the promotion of Newton’s Nation.

PSWC of 2009

Among the events of 2009, the slalom competition took place in front of the Eiffel tower on the trocadero square. Jean Yves did some demonstrations and had a stand where he displayed armor. We can see Jim Carrey’s Yesman’s armor.

Tenacity.

At that time Jean Yves believed that the product BUGGY ROLLIN was going to be launched commercially. But it will take time and tenacity.

 

Art exhibition events of 2009

During the winter events of 2009, Jean Yves also tried the new arms with the brakes under the elbows. It was an opportunity to make a video of contemporary art for the exhibition “Intrepid Mixer” at the villa Robertsau in Rumilly. This video was firstly made to test the new arms that had a braking system. It turned out that it could perfectly fit to the need of the contemporary Art Exhibition.

 

SWR3 events of 2009

Jean Yves had the happiness to be the guest of SWR3 in Germany, and made try the armor to the presenter of TV Nicole koster, show who was nice and fit. Nicole said that she understood early in her life that she could earn her life with her mouth. We do think that she has many other talents.

The film had been shot in south Africa Cap town.  It was a large production.

Board clash.

The day before shooting, the skateboarder ht the head of Jean Yves with his board as he was training. He had to go to hospital, and the all movie had to be rescheduled one week later. They used the original scheduled shooting time to make the scene without Jean yves. And even so, it was not enough time to finish the shooting. Maybe the director was asking too much…

Rollerman at Almabtrieb 2010

Rollerman at Almabtrieb 2010 was nice. Among the classic longboard racing world, Almabtrieb is Germany’s capital race. Because it is the main event for german longboard world, it is well organized and a lot of athletes from all over the world go there. We were lucky with the weather.

a fast road profile.

The street start at the top of the hill with a dead end. The road is a little bit flat as slalom between the houses. Then it dives into the forest all along the side of the hill. This long straight make a huge acceleration. It ends by a left hair pin. And finishes before the bottom of valley.

use the time to try

First there is a week of freeride training and then the brackets of the world championships.
on the side of the road very one has to wait during the process of the race. So we have time to try something new. That is why Severine took the opportunity to wear the BUGGY ROLLIN suit.

Life style

What happen after the race is even more important. The camping becomes a huge Holliday camp and the main tent the party place.

Rollerman at Graveyard call

an event near by

Near us, beside Annecy, is a small city named Argonay. In that place was the “Graveyard call” race. It is named so because the track ends at the entrance of the cemetery. Fortunately nobody among the the athletes ever ends there.

It could be a halloween event, but it is held in the middle of the summer.

Graveyard call was a narrow winding road in the forest. Sufficiently sinuous so that Jean Yves comes out of the way in a pin. It missed 50 cm of asphalt out of the curve. It was necessary to brake a little more ! Armor and pilot had no damage at all. They slide a little more far away in the gravel.

Strong sun was making light spots all along the road. Light was running on the back of the armor like leopard flakes. All together it made the feeling of running through an impressionist paint.

Graveyard call was a international race with athletes coming from around the world of downhill. That is how we met James Kelly and prepare the test of the following year.

Rollerman casted to the show of Country Music Channel

Following Jim Carrey’s film Yes Man, we were contacted by Country Music Channel, CMT, to have Tom C Howell’s armor tested. Of course the video has been blocked on the whole of the planet by production via Youtube. Maybe you will be able to see the teaser . But we have some pictures here.

Tom being a skateboarder he is alergic to rollerblades. He was put tape at the end of his feet so that he does not burn his toes too quickly. And it worked.
